Dozens of Dachshunds ~ Storytime Approved
A Counting, Woofing, Wagging Book
By Stephanie Calmenson
Illustrated by Zoe Persico
This is a fun book that helps introduce counting skills to young readers. And what better way to do that in Doreen and Duncan's opinion than with Dachshunds.
The illustrations are colorful and attention-grabbing so no lost readers as you work your way through this lively and frisky parade of dogs.
This is an 8-Paws reviewed book, in the opinion of our reviewers Doreen and Duncan who each gave it 4-paws. Now I will admit Doreen and Duncan were more interested in the Dachshund pictures than the actual educational value of the book but educational opportunities can be subtly introduced to young readers through fun and entertaining books.

About the Book:
An exuberant counting book inspired by the real, and hilarious, dachshund parades held around the world.
Dozens of dachshunds in clever costumes are the stars of a woofing, wagging costume parade! Dressed up as birds, bees, books, dinosaurs, and other delightful surprises, each new pair, trio, and group adds to the excitement. When the parade is through, there's a joyous jamboree, including seventy-eight dachshunds, and a sing-along, bark-along dachshund song.
Back matter highlights all the different sizes, coats, colors, and patterns of this beloved breed, and introduces the author's own adorable dachshund, Harry.
